UV-CORE is an Italian company that produces LED lamps, fluorescent lamps and cabinets that use ultraviolet technologies to disinfect air and surfaces. Compared to other sanitation systems, UV-CORE products are an effective and low-cost solutions for the disinfection of environments. These sanitation systems are based on Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI), one of the most effective disinfection methods based on the use of ultraviolet radiation between 200-280 nm, called UV-C radiation. Thanks to its experience in the lighting field, UV-CORE can ensure safe installations and offer innovative products, such as dual use solutions that offer light and UV-C disinfection in one product.
UV-CORE UV-C lamps are immediately available and easy to install, the germicidal effect is guaranteed for all treatments with no recurring costs. In fact, once the system is installed it can withstand an unlimited number of disinfection cycles, the only costs are electrical consumption and maintenance. The disinfection process is simply activated by turning on the UV-C lamps when the activities are closed. The complete evacuation of the spaces is necessary only during treatment. The use of UV-C lamps is sustainable both for the environment and for humans: they do not require the use and the storage of dangerous substances and they do not release dust or gas during the sanitation process. The treated spaces can be used immediately after the disinfection.
The main areas of application of UV-CORE technologies include offices and meeting rooms, medical studies and clinics, waiting rooms and common areas, large gathering places (gyms, cinemas, theaters), shops and dressing rooms, supermarkets and shopping malls, toilets, restaurants, public transport, hotels.
Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) is the name given to the part of the ultraviolet spectrum that has demonstrable germicidal properties. Due to its physical characteristics, UVGI makes inactive all the microorganisms that come into contact with it. As part of the ultraviolet spectrum, it is not visible to the human eye.
Ultraviolet light can be subdivided into three ranges of electromagnetic radiation: UV-A (315-400 nm), UV-B (280-315 nm) and UV-C (200-280 nm). Ultraviolet C has a disinfectant effect on all microorganisms (virus, bacteria, yeast, mould spores), which is called ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI).
The photochemical change that these particular wavelengths induce in microorganisms makes them unable to replicate, damaging the DNA or RNA that underlie all life forms. The microorganisms therefore lose the ability to replicate by becoming inactive and the ability to develop immunity to specific chemical agents, as can happen with normal sanitization methods.
UVGI technology is officially approved by CDC, WHO, ISS and other health institutions and it is scientifically proven and in use since 1877.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, in many countries it is mandatory to comply with specific sanitation rules and regulations to ensure the safety of workers and customers in offices, restaurants, shops and many other environments.
UV-CORE UV-C LEDs, fluorescent lamps and cabinets have an antibacterial and germicidal sanitizing action. These technologies allow for the continuous disinfection of environments and vehicles from microorganisms, chemical and biological pollutants, the safety of employees in the workplace, customers in shops and users in public places.
UV-C Lamps reduce the use of chemicals for cleaning and they are therefore free of potentially hazardous residues for humans and the environment. UV-CORE systems only require an easy and cheap installation, and minimum maintenance compared to other solutions.
UV-C technologies have a traceable and demonstrable efficacy, as it is based on a proven model for measuring the effectiveness of the germicidal action. For more than 40 years, UV-C light has been used to disinfect water, air and surfaces against a whole suite of human pathogens and it has proven effective against SARS-CoV-1, a near-relative of COVID-19’s virus.
The process of disinfection with ultraviolet irradiation is based on a precise mathematical model which can be used as a basis for correctly sizing UV-C installations. UV-CORE relies on external laboratories to determine the lighting characteristics of its lamps. This allows to simulate the environment to be sanitized, perform precise calculations on the radiation and guide you in choosing the right product for an adequate disinfection of your spaces.
UV-CORE UVGI systems are designed in partnership with Cortem Group following a rigorous research and development process and based on many years of experience, attentive to international standards and certification requirements.
